Mommy's lil fighter

Sophia, for the past few weeks you have been fighting sleep so much. I don't know what it is. I know your tired, you will fall asleep sitting up, but as soon as we lay down to sleep in your crib .. your awake. We hear you cry and we walk in and your standing up in your crib. Mommy and Daddy are losing sleep and we're getting cranky.

You've had trouble with this before but for a few months getting you to sleep was easy, and you'd sleep through out the night. Oh, how I miss that. Then you went through a stage where you would just wake up around 1 and play until around 4. Daddy would end up staying up with you because he was taking online classes and didn't have to be up in 2 hours like mommy would have to be for work, thank god.

We had a few good weeks, and now your back to it again. We've just been putting you in bed with us, and you sleep just fine. We need the sleep, but we don't want you to get used to sleeping in our bed. I've been talking to other parents about mommy-hood and trying to put my lil bad to bed without tears. I have some mommy friends who say their baby/toddler has been sleeping through out the night for months. I almost don't want to believe them because to me I believe it's impossible from my experience. But then I talk to other parents who are going or has gone through the same thing. So it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only sleepless mommy who is fighting this "battle" too.

I know that every baby is different but I just want more sleep, for all of us. I've been reading articles about babies fighting sleep and I really do feel like we've tried everything. Or at least, I feel like we have. Your crib is in our bedroom, so maybe that's it. You have your own room .. at the other end of the house and mommy is too paranoid right now to have you so far away. Well, only like 10 steps away but still. I don't know. Maybe one day we will all be going to sleep at normal hours and sleeping all the way until morning. How about for your 1st birthday? It's funny that I'm rambling on about it now, almost a year later. The first 3-4 months of your life we were waking up every 2 hours and we survived. So we're going to make it this time.

Mommy's not mad or anything just wanting things to be a little easier for all of us. And if nothing changes I'll still be the happiest mommy and enjoy every minute with you .. no matter how sleepy I am. How could mommy be mad at this beautiful, lil bad baby girl? Oh and if any mom's have any advise, please let me know! :) Here are some pictures from one of the nights this past week.

  1. I don't have any tips or tricks, but I can sympathize! Derek's been getting up from like 1-4am for the past few weeks. We are worn out! Payton did this too around this age, and after a few months he grew out of it...so I'm hoping that same goes for Derek!
