CURRENTLY

S O P H I A  I S  C U R R E N T L Y ...

WONDERING: I'm pretty sure Sophia is wondering about every little thing. She is always asking me, "Mommy what's that?" or "Mommy whats this?" She just wants to know everything and I'm glad that she is learning.

LOATHING:  That we have to start getting ready to leave for daycare.

COOKING: all kinds of food for me using her own kitchen. Her favorites are cupcakes that she calls birthday cake and french fries. She is SO cute playing with her kitchen. I'll start cooking & she'll run to her kitchen set and say "Mommy, I'm cooking too."

READING: her huge collection of books. Sophia loves books so we're always buying or lucky enough to have books given to us. Right now her favorite is Once Upon a Potty. This book was given to us from a family of boys. So this book is about a little boy learning how to potty train. Sophia loves it. I may have to find the girl version.

LISTENING: to Yo Gabba Gabba. This little girl will listen and watch Yo Gabba Gabba all day if I could let her. If it's not on the TV then she's playing it from my phone.

I  A M  C U R R E N T L Y ...

WONDERING: if my house will ever be clean. Ha! It's like I can get it somewhat clean during the weekends when I'm not working but from how exhausted we are in the evenings after work it just gets messy again. I need to hire someone to do the cleaning because right now, I just can't keep up :(

LOATHING: all the cold weather and snow we are having. I feel so lazy during winter because I don't want to leave the house. I just want it to be summer.

COOKING: to be honest. I haven't cooked anything all week. After work I pick Sophia up at daycare and my parents restaurant is next door so I have been grabbing food there for Sophia and I. Gary works real late every night so he picks up food on his way home. So there hasn't been any dinners in our home for a long time.

READING: One of my goals this year was to read books. Well, I haven't even started one so before I started this currently post I was reading my towns news online.

LISTENING: I am currently listening to the Yo Gabba Gabba that Sophia is playing from my phone. Yay!

Linking up with Harvesting Kale! What are you currently doing?

DENTIST

A couple of weeks ago we noticed a spot on Sophia's tooth. Gary kept saying it was a cavity but I was in denial because we were brushing her teeth.  I didn't want my baby to have a cavity.

I finally took her into the dentist last week. I felt so sad for her. She was all happy about coming to the dentist until she had to sit in the chair alone. She looked so small in the chair and she kind of just looked down. They leaned her back and started to open her mouth and she just stared at me. Her brown eyes looked right at me. I wanted to cry. I looked at her little hands and they were shaking! I finally asked if I could lay on the chair and just have her lay on top of me.

As soon as I was there with her she did perfect. She kept her mouth open when they asked her to and she didn't cry or try to get away. We held hands the whole time. I was so proud of her.2

They cleaned her teeth and confirmed that she did have a cavity. They also did an XRay and found two smaller cavities in between her two front teeth.

I was SO sad. My sister came with me and when we were alone in the room I told her I felt like a terrible parent. Sophia had cavities because of me. I wanted to just sit there in the dentist office and cry. I wanted to just hold Sophia and tell her sorry and that it's all my fault.

When the dentist came back in I had a lot of questions for her. She answered everything and gave me advice. I wanted to know what I was doing wrong because Sophia's teeth were getting brushed more than once a day. I learned a lot and there will be a lot of changes at home.

Sophia loves juice. I didn't know juice was so bad for toddlers teeth so I was giving her straight juice without mixing it with water. Also, Sophia no longer takes a bottle BUT she still asks for a sippy cup of milk before bed. Well, we brush Soph's teeth and then she drinks her sippy cup and goes to sleep. The dentist told us that she shouldn't have anything after she brushes her teeth. She also said I need to floss more. Honestly, I was only brushing Sophia's teeth. I didn't even think to floss yet so we'll be starting that. She also said to only give Sophia milk or juice during her meals and try to give her water during the day.

And one more thing. She said I need to take the binky away from Sophia or it will narrow her teeth in the front. This is going to be the hardest for us. She loves her binky but I'm going to try real hard for her to not want it anymore by the end of this month.

We are now scheduled for Sophia to get her cavities filled on 2/20/2013. The said they will be giving her this liquid medication that will pretty much make her loopy and forget the experience. I'm a little worried about this and want to look into it more online. I don't like the fact that Sophia will be "out of it". I don't even like that for myself.

I hesitated on posting this because I don't want anyone to think I'm a bad mom because I'm not. I just wanted to share what I've learned. It happens ... and I've learned from it. I'm still learning everything, being a first time parent is not easy. We will continue to brush her teeth like we have been but will just limit what she drinks and when she drinks during the day.

Did your toddler ever get a cavity? If so, did you get it filled?

OUR WEEKEND // FIVE

You guys. I have been slacking on taking pictures. I haven't even instagrammed all weekend! The pictures above aren't even from this weekend but I had nothing else to post. The pictures are from our dinner at Steak N Shake Thursday evening. Sophia loved it. She got to wear a hat and have her own milkshake.

Friday after work I got my nails done & we all ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with Ross and Jesseca. The next morning Jesseca came over and we headed to Old Navy to shop for our girls. My friend Jesseca just found she is having a baby girl. She is due in June! I am SO excited!! We spend a lot of time together already so adding another baby makes me SO happy!

We ended our shopping trip short because of the snow but we had a delicious lunch at Panera. The rest of the day Sophia and I took naps and just watched TV. It's hard for me to leave the house when it's so cold. I can not wait for warmer weather.

Sunday we woke up to more snow and headed to breakfast at my parents restaurant. The rest of the day was spent just hanging out at the house. I did get to leave the house alone to get my eye brows done and pick up some stuff at Wal Mart. I have gone the whole month of January without any make up and barely getting myself ready. I don't look terrible each morning but I could look A LOT better. After spending some time on Pinterest looking at cute hairstyles & outfits this morning I've decided to stop being so lazy and actually get myself ready with make up and my hair fixed each morning. So I bought some new make up and a ton of stuff for my hair. I'm excited to use everything.

I ended the evening with watching Disney with my girls. We did take a break from Disney to catch Beyonce perform at halftime. She's amazing.

Have a great week everyone!

WOODLAND WONDER

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE // TEN // ELEVEN

Sophia has her own room but it doesn't have a theme. It's just pink with everything girly in it. She currently co sleep with us so she only spends time in her room when we're getting dressed or when she's playing.

Lately I've been obsessed with everything woodland. Especially deer and foxes. Sophia loves them to so I figured I could hopefully redo Sophia's room to a Woodland Wonder theme.

So I spend some time {acutally a lot of time} browsing Pinterest and found a lot of ideas! I put together this inspiration board of just a few things. I plan on keeping her walls pink and adding either light blue or green curtains. I love the idea of using a tree branch as a curtain rod. I also like the idea of using a tree branch to hang letters that spell her name.

I also came across the little red riding hood bedding set pictured above. It's perfect! It has all the colors and animals I want to use. I have a few dressers that we have picked up from yard sales or that was left in this house that I plan on painting blue. I also plan on hanging deer/fox pictures and fun quotes in her room.

Oh & do you see that fox stuffed animal?! It's SOOO cute! I want to find a lot of these stuffed animals. I was looking on Etsy and found lots of stuffed animals and pillows that would look perfect.

I need to get rid of a lot of things in her room {and the whole house} before I start this but hopefully I can get this done soon! And hopefully Sophia loves it!
